Reading the rules again.
The compressor will have a pressure switch on it that the crio turns off/on to regulate pressure between 95 and 115 psi.
This is the pressure for storage.
The max working pressure we can use on cylinders and actuators is 60PSI. There is a regulator to be installed to control this.
We have been testing at max 125psi.
I am not sure how the results will be effected if testing at the required 60psi

Re: Pneumatics
Should've had someone check out the required rules on pneumatics before going into any serious testing. Oh well. Better now than later.
Not sure if it would change too much, we'd have to test it to see.

Re: Pneumatics
Ok, it looks like we will be using pneumatics this year! If the shifter works, air for sure.
We need to name a pneumatic team leader. Someone who is responsible for knowing ALL the rules and updates and therefore knows how we must implement. This does not mean they need to understand everything about pneumatics, but that we implement them properly.
We need to name this person on Saturday.

Re: Pneumatics
I want to get the pneumatics fully up on the T-chassis on Sunday. I am concerned on this gearbox shifter and the amount of force needed. We may have to get Tanner to 'giggle' the gearbox drive for/rev to disengage. The pneumatics requirements is semi involved.

Re: Pneumatics
I think wiring up the pneumatic "circuit" will be very easy.
Looking at the diagram from the 2010 Pneumatics manual (which is dated from 2006 - nice FIRST), it shouldn't be too hard. The only components I am not familiar with is the pneumatic switch and the little cylinder valve switches. The programming should be simple, so I think this should be something that could be done fairly quickly.

Re: Pneumatics
Interesting post about how to make a piston faster, which probably doesn't apply to us as we want more force than speed, but still.
