Team 1261

I'll see about CADDing up some of the alt. drivetrain ideas that we thought of, including the cBase one and the one that Sunny and I worked on today. I'll post pictures of them here after they're done to see how that is.

When you go to CAD the cbase and the designs that you and I have talked about, try to integrate the cbase metal, axles, sprockets, and chain into the designs. It'll be much more beneficial if we can see a base put up 100% in CAD before we build it, especially this year. Plus it'll make measuring the exact distance for the spacers and stuff MUCH easier.

I'll try that, but I've never really done anything with actual parts, but I don't think it should be too hard. The only hard part should be the chain - never done, but 2010 may have some new features.

You don't have to put in the chain exactly, but some sort of similar substitute so that we can see where the chain sits. We also want to make sure that the sprockets are lined up.

I think this is what we talked about modifying the chassis on my transparentcy. I adjusted it to be a bit closer to actual size, but it appears that we can't fit three wheels in that space. Eheh.

I was looking through the inventor files and some reference pictures and it appears you mount the motors upside down on the new cBase? That's kind of odd. Wouldn't that kind of make our chaining less intrusive then their system?

Wow, AM does show the gearboxes/motors on the bottom, no way that will work on the bump, although it keeps the CG low.

I noticed something in the PDF File you CAded,

1. The bot is only 33.20 inches long? From wheel to wheel. You have a decent 5" to try and extend out.

Is this the Cbase?

Cause it's better, but the chains are definitely not gonna fly in that position.

Remember how we talked about chaining from the motor to the two middle wheels, then going from the middles wheels to the two lower wheels...

And, the 6" wheels are on the little plates while the 8" wheels are mounted on the actual frame.
