Alt. Shifter

Seems like a team on ChiefDelphi had a idea similar to ours, except they made their own shifter.

The nice thing about the worm gear is that it takes the pressure of whatever they're holding off the motor and onto the gears. Gears don't break as easily.

Now that we're experimenting in "shifter land", we'll probably know enough to do that in a few years...

I guess this is where we lack in the fact that not very many of us have the ability to make custom parts.

But the shifter is indeed pretty good. And a 144:1 reduction means that they are getting a decent RPM with pretty decent torque as well.

Yeah. Maybe we can get some sponsors that have abilities. Though, then we'd need to make a CAD team. Hm.

Our current shifter should work though, programming wise. The only thing that Dad/everyone else seems to be worried about is the motor burning up. I still don't get what they mean by that.

What we could do, is mount a second fisher price into the tranny, and then use another window motor for the telescoping arm/whatever, to lift the hook.

Yeah we could do that.

Spite the motor being able to cock the kicker very fast, it'd probably be nicer if it would stay up all the time with no worry of it breaking. So yeah, two motors would be better.
