Nihao, everyone!

Parents, Robolions Open House is tomorrow at D216 in Peachtree Ridge High School at 7:00 PM! Please attend this meeting to gain insight to our team's goal, purpose, and future plans.

The team discussed the following data on this week's meeting:

* Robolions Open House
* Online Robot Demonstrations
* G.R.I.T.S. (Georgia Robotics Invitational Tournament and Showcase)
* GSMST Challenge
* VEX Robotics Competition Qualifier

1. Robolions Open House
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Robolions Open House and Parent Meeting is being held tomorrow at 7:00 PM in D216 at Peachtree Ridge High School. You will be able to see what the Robotics team is about, and see your children's progress in this extracurricular activity. We will also discuss the need for volunteers in upcoming events, our plans for the GRITS competition and driving arrangements, as well as our own upcoming VEX Qualifier on November 20. Parents, please RSVP to Mrs. Rutland <mary_rutland@gwinnett.k12.ga.us> if you are able to attend the meeting.

2. Online Robot Demonstrations
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Members, please note that there are several online videos that pertain to VEX robots, such as those in YouTube. Please use your technology effectively and gain greater knowledge on how to build well-designed robots.

2. G.R.I.T.S.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The G.R.I.T.S. event is free to the public and parents. We will be packing our items/trailers on Friday, October 15, for G.R.I.T.S. The Robolions will then meet on the next day, October 16, at 4:45 AM to participate in the day-long showcase. The team will leave Peachtree Ridge High School at 5:00 AM and caravan to Warner Robins Air Force Base. The event will likely end around 6:00 PM.

Members must bring their own lunch/lunch fees and small sums of money to cover the gasoline cost for the trip.

We need parents' assistance in car-pooling - any help would be greatly appreciated. We will also need parents' assistance for a part-day group if some team members must return home during the showcase. Please email Mrs. Rutland if you are able to assist in car-pooling.

3. GSMST Challenge
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
There will be a VEX Qualifier competition on Saturday, November 6, at Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology (GSMST). The Robolions will be sending two teams to this event and will be bringing members to watch and learn from this competition. If you are interested in participating in this event, please complete your robot and perform a demonstration to Mrs. Rutland by November 2.

A small group of five to six people will go to GSMST to help them set up on Friday, November 5. Please notify Mrs. Rutland if you wish to assist in the setup. Also, GSMST has graciously offered to loan us their two competition fields for our November 20th event - please thank GSMST for their assistance.

4. VEX Robotics Competition Qualifier
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The VEX Robotics Competition Qualifier is nearing! The Robolions will host and participate in the all-day tournament on November 20 at Peachtree Ridge High School. Seeing as there are only nine weeks left until the qualifier, the team suggests each team to create a timeline to complete the robot by the due date. Teams also have the option to work on the robots on Thursday afternoons - please make the best use of your time! If you are unsure of anything, please contact your team's mentor.

We require ten or more additional parents to assist us in this qualifier! Please notify Mrs. Rutland if you are able to assist us in this event.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you for reading this week's Syndication. Have a safe and an enjoyable week!

Sincerely,
Paul Han
